Sharyn Adler Gitalis, BFA, Cert. in Ltg Des, MIESNA Associate Lighting Designer
As artist, consultant and educator, Sharyn creates meaningful spaces driven by her instinctive understanding of the colour, function and beauty of light.
In her own private practice as a colour consultant, Sharyn's clients include Scotia Bank, University of Toronto, Reena Foundation, North York Crown Attorney's Office and over a thousand small businesses and residences. Among a select group of colour consultants to found the Benjamin Moore Painting and Decorating Services Program in 1999, Sharyn is one of the pioneers of colour design in Canada.
Sharyn has taught various design programs at York University, Toronto District School Board, Canadian Decorators Association, Columbus Centre, Jewish Community Centre and Harbourfront Computer Centre.
Sharyn's academic accomplishments include a Lighting Design Certificate from Ryerson University, an intensive colour and design study program with world-renown author and colour designer Leatrice Eiseman in Seattle, a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Honours), as well as studies in landscape architecture and business. Sharyn is a member of the IESNA.
